Valid
Information should be accurate and reliable to ensure that
no mistakes or misunderstandings occur; this could lead to a wrong decision
being made.
Reliable
To ensure that information is valid and not false, it should
be sourced from a reliable source and not someone/somewhere that is known to
spread disinformation. This is important because the wrong information could
influence a wrong decision.
Timely
Information should be obtained and used in a timely fashion
to ensure that any decisions being made are made as early as possible.
Fit for purpose
Information should be relevant to the audience, for example
information about a new Apple update should be given to Apple customers, not
Windows customers.
Accessible
Making sure that information is available for use to anyone
that needs it is important because it could be the difference between the
correct and wrong decision.
Cost effective
Capturing, Processing, Storing and Presenting information
can be very expensive so it is important to look at the benefits of having
information before sourcing it.
Accurate/Relevant
Information should be relevant to the audience, accurate and
in depth, this will make the information good and it will be useful.
Reliable Source
Information from reliable sources is important, reliable
sources include trusted friends, other users in that industry and magazines.
Understandable by
user
If information is presented to an audience then it is important
to make sure that the audience either understands the jargon used in it, or
that there is little jargon. If information is too technical then the audience
will not understand it.
